Courses & Guiding
If you want to develop your rock climbing skills, the excellent weather and the unrivalled range of world class climbing available in north-east Spain, combined with cheap flights and easy access from Barcelona, makes Catalunya the ideal place to learn. Climb Catalunya offers a range of week long courses and long-weekend courses. We also offer instructional units which can be incorporated into any of our trips as bolt-on packages. This flexible system means you have the choice of enjoying one of our well crafted courses, or of taking any number of bolt-on units in a combination that suits you. Climb Catalunya also provides a personalised guiding service.
All our courses take place amidst the spectacular settings of Catalunya's mountainous regions. Learn amidst the awe inspiring gorges of northwest Catalunya, the magical and mystical Montserrat Massif, and the granite wonderland of the high Pyrenees. These locations provide superb climbing and the perfect conditions for acquiring a wide range of techniques. The week long courses run from Saturday to Saturday throughout the year. All course prices are inclusive of full board, accommodation and transport in Spain (see General Information). They include a minimum of 5 full days of instruction, leaving 2 days free for either rest, climbing, consolidation of skills, or additional instruction as required.

All our long weekend courses take place amidst the spectacular settings of Catalunya's mountainous regions, such as the magical and mystical Montserrat Massif, and the awe inspiring gorges of northwest Catalunya. These courses run from Friday noon to Monday evening throughout the year. All course prices are inclusive of full board, accommodation and transport in Spain (see Long Weekends in Montserrat). They include 3 full days of instruction, leaving 1 day free for either rest, more climbing, consolidation of skills, or additional instruction as required. A typical itinerary involves pick up from Barcelona airport (BCN) at around noon on Friday, with the possibility of being on the rock an hour later!

Bolt-on instructional units can be taken singly or in any combination on all of our outstanding set itineraries: Montserrat Massif, Classic Gorges of northwest Catalunya, High Pyrenean Granite, Long Weekend Break to Montserrat. This means that you can mix and match units to suit your particular needs and skills, helping you to get the absolute maximum out of your trip. If, for example, you feel inspired to do a long route but have little or no experience of multi-pitch climbing, then we can help you learn the necessary skills. Or if you have always concentrated on sports routes but want to be initiated into the exciting world of trad climbing, we can take you there...
Bolt-on units are priced according to the number of days instruction you decide to take:
1 day of instruction - £75 per person
2 days of instruction - £125 per person
3 days of instruction - £175 per person

Available throughout the year, our personal guiding service can be tailored to your needs. Take on a challenge you have always dreamed of, accompanied by an experienced guide. Climb a classic limestone multi-pitch from 100-500 metres in length in the Dry Mountains; top-out on a spectacular granite summit in the fabulous Twisted Waters National Park; or explore the vast fields of vertical rock on Montserrat's dramatic north faces.
